The full name of NOS is nitrous oxide system, i.e. nitrogen acceleration system. It is a product developed and produced by Holley company in the United States. In the current world drag racing, in order to improve the high ratio horsepower in an instant, the liquid NOx system used is Nos. The working principle of NOS is to form N2O (nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas) into a high-pressure liquid and put it into a steel cylinder, and then act as a combustion promoter together with air in the engine and burn it with fuel (N2O can release oxygen and nitrogen, in which oxygen is the key gas promoter, and nitrogen can help cool down), so as to increase the integrity of fuel combustion and improve power.
Nitrous oxide can strongly support combustion and is widely used in real racing. It can increase 50-100 horsepower. Because the nitrous oxide system does great harm to the engine, ordinary cars can't afford to install it, so the engine must be strengthened, and the service life of the engine equipped with the nitrous oxide system will be greatly shortened. Therefore, there are not many civil cars modified with nitrous oxide, which are only installed by bone ash players and racing cars in linear acceleration. When the nitrous oxide system is activated You can see a light blue flame coming out of the exhaust pipe. Better effect with turbocharging
